The chairman of the African Democratic Congress in Osun State, Dr Charles Omidiji, has emphasised the need for unity, cooperation and synergy among all leadership structures within the party.
The Osun ADC chairman noted that there must be collective priority and focus to ensure that the party takes over the mantle of leadership in Osun State come 2026.
He stated this on Saturday during a joint meeting between the Osun ADC Local Government Chairmen and the leadership of the Omoluabi Progressive Group (OPG).
A statement signed by Comrade Abdulkudus Abdulsalam, Osun ADC Publicity Secretary, noted that Omidiji during the meeting, appreciated the efforts of the Omoluabi Progressive Group LGA Chairmen in their respective localities.
“Dr Omidiji encouraged all leaders to embrace peace across all LGAs, wards and units and to intensify grassroots mobilisation.
“He also shared insights into his long-standing relationship with the National Secretary of ADC, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, recounting his active political roles during Ogbeni’s assumption of leadership on November 27th, 2010, especially in his capacity as the then IPAC Chairman,” the statement noted.
In his remarks, the OPG State Chairman, Alhaji Abdulazeez Adesiji, reiterated the need for close cooperation and alignment between OPG LGA Chairmen and the ADC leadership at the local level.
He directed all OPG Chairmen to henceforth work directly with ADC structures in their areas as directed.
Adesiji also encouraged inclusiveness and neutrality toward all gubernatorial aspirants, stressing that no favouritism should be allowed within the party.
According to him, “the collective goal should be the success of the party in the 2026 gubernatorial election and the 2027 general elections, expressing optimism that victory shall be achieved by God’s grace.”
