Owa Obokun orders review of chieftaincy titles in Ijesaland

The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, has ordered the review of the processes governing the conferment of Chieftaincy Titles in Ijesaland.

This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by the Palace Secretary, Mr. Samuel Komolafe.

According to the statement, the review which has commenced was in fulfillment of Owa’s promise to ensure equity, fairness, and justice on all matters concerning the progress of Ijesaland.

Komolafe said the review would affect majorly, chieftaincy title holders who were conferred during the reign of Oba Dr. Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran.

The Palace made specific mention of – High Chief Ibitoye Adeniyi (Obaala Of Ilesa), High Chief Saka Fapohunda (Ogboni Of Ilesa), High Chief Omoniyi Ojo Ogunyemi (Lejoka), High Chief Gbenga Igbaroola (Arapate), and High Chief Busuyi Onigbogi (Lejofi).

“Consequently, the Palace advised the concerned High Chiefs to approach the Palace for documentation and other necessary procedures,” the statement noted.
