Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, will on Thursday and Friday, convocate 1,341 students across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Shadrach Akindele, stated this on Monday during the pre-convocation press briefing to mark the institution’s 17th convocation and 20th anniversary celebration.
According to Akindele, the university, during the convocation, will celebrate its overall best graduating student, Joel Durugbo, who achieved a perfect CGPA of 5.0.
The Vice Chancellor noted that Durugbo, a student of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, has shown a remarkable feat of diligence and discipline.
Akindele said, “At the undergraduate level, the university has 185 First Class Honours, 662 Second Class Upper, 410 Second Class Lower, 79 Third Class, and 5 Pass.
“At the postgraduate level, a total of three hundred and thirty-eight students are graduating. This is made up of 109 students at the postgraduate diploma level, 65 students with Master of Arts degree, 120 with Master of Science degree, 25 with Master of Business Administration and 19 with Doctor of Philosophy degree.”
Akindele added that the university will confer an honorary degree on the Kwara State First Lady, Evangelist Omolewa Ahmed, the President of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, Evangelist Mike Bamiloye, and the Group Managing Director, Sahara Group, Kola Adesina during the convocation.
