The Student Union Government (SUG), Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun has urged the management of the institution to prioritise students’ welfare for better academic performance.

The call was made by the institution’s SUG president, Marvellous Ayanyemi, on the sidelines of the 2025 Union Day celebration on Thursday in Ede.

According to Ayanyemi, the union had held several meetings with the school management on issues pertaining to students’ welfare and other concerns, adding that he hoped the issues would be addressed in due course.

The SUG president stated that the celebration was a testament to the union’s achievements, including donating a shuttle bus and building a secretariat.

Ayanyemi said, “We are donating a mini shuttle bus on behalf of the union to our students to ease their transportation problems between the North and South campuses.

“We also thank the management of the institution for the commendable act of allocating land for the union’s secretariat.

“What we have done today has never been done for so long by other SUG administrations, including donating a bus and securing land for our secretariat.”
