Residents of Kajola community in Iwo, Osun State, have appealed to the state government to urgently intervene in their lingering power crisis.
The residents said they have been in total blackout since the breakdown of their electricity transformer five months ago.
Other areas affected by the blackout are; Alaye’s Compound, Barrack Mosinola, Ile-Mokoda, Ile-Omole, Ode-Oniyan, Olode Cinema, Ile-Motoku, among others.
In a post on Iwo, Osun State, Facebook page, a resident, Morufat Mutalubi, noted that the prolonged blackout has crippled economic activities in the area.
“We have been without electricity for five months. Our transformer got spoiled and life has been unbearable. Business is not moving, and people are suffering. We are on our knees begging our leaders to come to our aid,” the post quoted Mutalubi as saying.
