Owa Obokun suspends Ilesa chief accused of stealing transformers

The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup has suspended the Oba Odo of Ilesa, high chief Busuyi Gbadamosi, over the alleged theft of two transformers.

Chief Gbadamosi was suspended after he was arrested by the Police in Ilesa and allegedly refused to write a statement on the issue.

osun.life recalled that residents of Araromi community in Ilesa had reported the high chief to Owa’s Panel on Conduct, Chieftaincy Matters and Boundary Disputes, alleging that he stole the transformers.

However, Chief Gbadamosi denied the allegation, noting that he was only trying to assist in helping the community fix the transformers.

Providing an update on the matter, a palace source who pleaded anonymity, said Chief Gbadamosi was detained for allegedly failing to provide the missing transformers.

He also confirmed that the Owa Obokun Adimula suspended the traditional chief pending the outcome of the police investigation.
