Residents of Iwo have cried out over a collapsed bridge around water works area of the town, calling the attention of the state government to the situation.
A resident of Iwo, Bolaji Olaoye, in a post on X, urged the state governor and the Ministry of Works to rehabilitate the collapsed section of the bridge.
Olaoye said the bridge has become a death trap for motorists and other road users.
“The bridge along the water works before the area commander in Iwo, Osun state, has become a death trap as it has partially collapsed.
“I want to appeal to the state government and the Ministry of Works to as a matter of urgency, cater to it.”
Commenting on the post, another resident of the town, Oluwatosin Omoleye, said the collapsed bridge ought to have been repaired if the local government administration were functioning.
According to him, “This is something Iwo local government should have fixed if we have a function council. The bridge started collapsing gradually and it has now become this. I hope our governor will fix it immediately.”
