The chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ilesa East Local Government, Mr Fowowe Akinola, has boasted that the party will win the 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun.

Akinola noted that the Peoples Democratic Party is dead in Ilesa, adding that a lot of members of the PDP have joined the APC in the town.

The APC chairman, who spoke in a telephone interview with osun.life, added that the leadership of the APC in Ilesa is united toward ensuring victory in next year’s election and the 2027 general election.

“I can boldly tell you that the Peoples Democratic Party is dead and buried in Ilesa. A lot of PDP members have joined us, and we are still expecting more people to come.

“I am sure our party will win next year’s governorship election, and I can tell you that the leadership of the APC in Ilesa is united towards achieving this aim,” Akinola noted.

On the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration, the APC chairman said members of the party have been trooping out in large numbers to register.

Akinola urged those who are of age but yet to register to do so, adding that the Permanent Voters Card is the key to sending the PDP government back home..

He added, “Our members have been going out to register. Our leaders are mobilising us for that and we are thankful for their support. I also want to urge those who have yet to register to do so. Our PVC is our power, and the time to use it is next year when we will be sending Governor Adeleke back home.”
