Osun APC cautions members over suspicious O’Yes empowerment

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned it members against an ongoing youth empowerment registration on Facebook.

The APC said it members should be wary of the antics of some “entities who are trying to use O’YES cadet registration to fraudulently lure some innocent members of the APC into their moribund party”.

A statement by the Osun APC chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, said, “there is a statement on the Facebook directing those who participated in the O’YES Corp programme between 2010 and 2018 when Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola was the governor of Osun State to send a message to a particular WhatsApp number”.

The statement however, warned members of the party not to fall for the antics, adding that the reinstated APC chairmen and councillors are working on how to reabsorb the 20,000 O’YES cadets sacked by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The statement further read, “The esteemed and loyal members of our party should shine their eyes very well in order not to fall victims of political fraudsters who are out to take their undue advantage.

“The dedicated and ever loyal members of our party are encouraged to discountenance the message as it did not emanate from any of the organs of our party at any of its levels in the state.

“There is an established channel of communication between the leadership of our party and the esteemed members which has never been abused for any reason.

“It is necessary to inform our members and supporters that the leadership and the reinstated chairmen and councillors of our party have been working assiduously on how to reabsorb the 20,000 O’YES cadets maliciously sacked by Governor Ademola Adeleke, in November 2022, as soon as the coasts are clear in the councils.

“Our party men and women should shun the antics of the distraught pension eaters desperate to recruit unsuspecting citizens into their evil coven for political manipulation.”
