Osun police arrest suspected killer, recover stolen cars and weapons

The Osun State Police Command has arrested Michael Ojo, a 27-year-old suspected cultist and leader of an armed gang accused of kidnapping and killing two residents of Akungba in Ondo State. He was apprehended in Ilesa on July 11, 2025, while allegedly attempting to sell a stolen black Lexus Jeep with registration number GGE 197 JJ.

According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, investigations revealed that Ojo led a gang to the residence of Mr. Abah John Friday and Ms. Okah Andrel in Akungba on June 20, 2025. They reportedly stole valuables including the Lexus Jeep and iPhones, and later abducted and murdered the victims.

In a separate operation, police arrested 34-year-old Dotun Olumide in Ikire on July 10 after he fled during a routine vehicle inspection. He was found to have stolen a Toyota Camry, a bed frame, and a mattress from Poget Care Homes Foundation in Badagry, Lagos State, where he had worked as a security guard.
