Residents of Osun State have taken to a social networking platform, Facebook, to express disgust over the N5m COVID-19 relief funds donation by the APC house of reps caucus from Osun State.

Hon. Taiwo Oluga, the member representing Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency had in a Facebook post said the donation is to assist the State Government in providing items that will serve as palliatives for the people and particularly the vulnerable ones during the COVID-19 pandemic period.

Members of the caucus; Hon. Femi Fakeye, Hon. Taiwo Oluga, Hon. Rasheed Afolabi, Hon. Lawrence Ayeni, Hon. Yinusa Amobi, and Hon. Bukola Oyewo also enjoined residents to stay at home during the lockdown period.

However, the donation did not go down well with some residents who took to the comment section of osun.life, to express disgust over the donation they consider as meagre.

Leading the pack was Matthew Morenikeji who wrote “Shame on them
So they cannot afford 1m each for the state, 6 of them now donate 5m and they’re still boosting with it,
Awon nuu olorun nuu”

Engr Abidex wrote “5m from all APC Rep in Osun ??
Haha 😂 But why? You guy’s suppose keep this as Secret now

Dare Olabusoye said “The figure is too low…….when only one person single handedly donate 5m …wat a shame to APC…”

Kayode Oladepo said “The money is too small wen one person for Ibadan donate 10m”

However, a dissenter, Babatope Oluwatuyi, differed from the pack, he said “If they could give 5m at this crucial moment, they have tried, I pray God keeps blessing them. Some of us running mouths here, how much have you sent to your family so far?”
