The State Government of Osun has denied the reports of a suspected coronavirus case in Ofatedo, Osogbo.
The State Government denied this during a telephone conversation with Pharm Dr Siji Olamiju, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health.
osun.life was responding to an earlier tweet of a resident who raised the alarm over the persistent coughing of the resident who just returned to the Country.
The resident had in a series of tweet, posted;
” I just called one of these numbers: 08035025692 to report a suspected case. Wow, he was extra rude!“
“He wouldn’t even allow me land and he cut off the line.”
“Location: Osogbo.
Neighborhood: Ofatedo.”
“This person travelled down from Europe on Sunday, and he’s been coughing heavily since. No one can tell what it is, but no one can check it out either.”
However, in a telephone conversation with Dr Olamiju, he allayed the fears of residents who are already packing out of the area.
He said his team had already visited the resident. He said “the person never travelled abroad but only picked up someone who just returned. We have attended to him and he hasn’t shown any known symptoms of the deadly coronavirus.”
