In continuation of efforts geared towards empowering resourceful minds, the Oluwo of Iwoland, HRM Oba (Dr.) Abdul Rasheed Adewale Akanbi has concluded all plans to launch a football club, named Telu Football Club.
Oluwo who disclosed this at his palace earlier today noted that the initiative behind Telu FC is to discover and promote talents in sporting activities most especially football.
“Close monitoring of my environment revealed that there are many young talented and skilled players roaming the streets, God will use me to empower some of them through the promotion of their dream in soccer playing”, he said.
The monarch called on talented footballers within Iwo Federal Constituency to log their names at his palace. An interested individual between the ages of 17 to 25 should come to the palace of Oluwo from tomorrow 10th June 2019.
Indigenous coaches and manager can also submit their CV for review.
It would be recalled that his Late father, Prince Adeyemi Kola Akanbi, a renowned personality, former town planning Chairman for Iwo Local Government was the owner of the defunct Town Planning Football Club of Iwo during his lifetime.
