A Chieftain of All Progressives Congress in Osun State and the Executive Chairman of Osun Quality Assurance and Morality Enforcement Agency, Dr. Isiaka Ayodele Owoade, has thrown his weight behind the opinion of Alhaji Rasaq Salinsile, the APC State Secretary who had last week in an exclusive interview with osun.life called for the State chairman of the ruling party to be zoned to the west senatorial district of the state for justice, fairness, and equity.
Owoade who is a former gubernatorial aspirant made this known while speaking with osun.life on the expectations of the forthcoming congress which will be held across all organs of the party in the state in no distant time.
The former Chairman of the United Kingdom chapter of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria in his words said “I agree with Honourable Salinsile on the issue of west senatorial district having the state chairman of APC, that is what equity demands, there are three top positions in both the government and the ruling party; the Governor, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly and the Chairman of the ruling party, two has already been settled for Osun central and East, so the remaining one should go to the zone that has not gotten one of the three, he concluded.
The former special adviser to Osun State Government on Lands and Physical planning reiterated the importance of having the best hands to manage the affairs of the party because he believes it would help the chances of the party during an election. In his words “The most important thing to me is for the best hands to emerge because, at the end of the day, everybody has to be responsible for any decision they take, if the leaders take a disadvantaged position in terms of quality party administration, when the consequences come, we will hold them responsible and if they decide to coronate somebody, when it comes to time to review who has done what, I am sure history would judge individuals.” he added.
Dr. Owoade, however, admitted that whatever the State leadership of the party agrees upon would be binding on all of them. “If they decide its to be zoned, well, so be it, and if they decide to coronate, so be it.” he concluded.
