Speaker, State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salaam, has enjoined leadership and faithful of Islam and other religions of books to take a cue from the perseverance and sacrifice of the father of faith, Prophet Ibrahim, saying his landmark sacrifice becomes an annual ritual in Islamic faith, because he deployed the will to do good and mind to enshrine humanity.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Goke Butikakuro, Salaam acknowledged that the nation was passing through a difficult phase, nevertheless he asserted that Nigeria would rebound for general good that would be beneficial to all Nigerians.
Felicitating with Governor Rauf Aregbesola, the grand Imam of Osun, Muslim leaders, Islamic scholars, security agencies and the good people of Osun, Speaker Salaam appreciated them for working for the prevailing peace in the state before and during the sallah period.
Speaker Salaam further expressed his pleasure over the free train ride the state offers, saying the government gesture has trickle-down effects for commuters, for majority would be happy to spend their fares on other domestic needs at their respective homes in Osun, and it is obvious the state would be buoyant for it economically.
He then admonished the Muslim faithful to celebrate modestly, and pray for the country, saying only Nigerians would fix Nigeria not the foreigners.
