APC slams Olajengbesi over petition against Oke

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has slammed the House of Representatives aspirant for Obokun/Oriade under the Accord Party, Pelumi Olajengbesi, over a petition submitted to the American Ambassador in Nigeria against Hon Wole Oke, the campaign Director General of the party.

Olajengbesi had alleged in the petition that the APC campaign Director stoked violence through a statement.

But the APC, in a statement by its spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, described the petition as baseless, frivolous and a misuse of forum.

The statement said Oke only made a harmless political statement, adding that the petition against the campaign DG can neither sit nor fly.

“Whoever might have been painstakingly watching the constant tantrums of this member against the D-G of the AMBO Campaign Committee would not agree less that he has been waging a needless war against the affable and pragmatic lawmaker whose conduct both as a private and public office holder has qualified him not only as a resourceful representative of his constituency in Obokun/Oriade in particular but a worthy ambassador of the nation in general.

“He should go back to the drawing board and inform his sponsors that this latest option of petitioning the American Embassy over a harmless political statement made by the campaign D-G can neither sit nor fly.

“For education and enlightenment, Nigeria is a sovereign state and where any person is reasonably suspected to have committed any offence known to the law, the appropriate channel to address it is the law enforcement agencies but not to a foreign diplomat.

“Therefore, the petition is nothing but a display of crass ignorance, lack of education and necessary knowledge,” the statement noted.
