The Group Director of O’dua Investment Company Limited, Otunba Layiwola Folorunsho Oriowo, has been nominated as the new Saloro of Ilesa.
His nomination, according to a post on the Facebook page of Mr Isaac Haastrup, an aide to Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, was confirmed on Sunday during the unveiling of the Obokungbusi Hall of Fame in Ijesaland.
The post noted that the Saloro chieftaincy title was previously held by the late prominent businessman, Chief S. B. Bakare.
Reacting to his nomination, Otunba Oriowo described it as a significant call to service, praying for God’s guidance to enable him meet his expectations for the progress of Ijesaland.
The aviation expert pledged to use his position to reconnect Ijesas in the diaspora with their homeland, stressing that Ijesaland remains a place of great potential.
