2026: Come home to vote Adeleke – Osun Commissioner tells electorates

The Osun State Government has urged indigenes and electorates residing outside the state to come home and vote in the August 15 gubernatorial election.

The state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr Bunmi Jenyo, made the appeal on Monday during the return trip for the over 600 holidaymakers who came home for Easter celebrations through the free train services provided by the Governor Ademola Adeleke administration.

Jenyo who was represented by the Special Adviser on Market Affairs, Mrs Eniola Omotosho, said the governor through the free train initiative has ensured that people who may not have been able to afford the cost of travelling came home and celebrated Easter with their loved ones.

He urged beneficiaries of the free train initiative and others who are residing outside Osun to come home and exercise their franchise during the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

“Our people from outside the state should please come back home and do the needful. We just need the payback from the people of the states to re-elect his excellency again. If he can do this for the first time, you can imagine what he will do the second time,” the Commissioner stated.

Jenyo further appreciated the state governor for sustaining and expanding the initiative which was introduced during the administration of former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola.

“We would like to appreciate the governor of Osun State, just as the passengers have done for making this happen. He promised them that it would happen again for the Easter period, and it has,” he stated.

The Commissioner further said the state government would make the free train service available during the Eid-el-Kabir, adding that, “In some weeks’ time when we will be having Eid al-Kabir, this will happen again as the people of the states continue to give the governor maximum support.”

Jenyo said Adeleke has done a lot for the people of the state, calling on residents to reciprocate Adeleke’s good work by voting for him on August 15.

“I want to admonish the people of the states, just like I rightly said now, that his excellency has been tested and proved. He hasn’t given them more than expected, more than what we thought he could give them. So, I want to implore the people of the states to massively vote for him,” he added.
