The Timi of Ede land, Oba Adesola Lawal, has dismissed report that he has withdrawn his support for the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The monarch in a statement signed by the
Director, Information and Protocol of the palace, Dapo Akinyele, said the report was concocted by some disgruntled elements and agents of fake news, who are hell-bent on disrupting the peaceful atmosphere currently pervading in our domain.
Oba Lawal said the palace has enjoyed tremendous support from Governor Adeleke who is an indigene of Ede and his family since his assumption of the throne.
The statement partly read, “The attention of Timi In- Council has been drawn to a video purportedly released and shared on various social media platforms by a faceless lady on the allegation of double standard by our highly revered Royal Father.
“To set the record straight, the purportedly jettisoned of the ambition of Asiwaju of Ede land, and the incumbent Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke by the Timi of Ede land, HIM, Oba Dr Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Laminisa 1, is a figment of imagination concocted by some disgruntled elements and agents of fake news, who are hell bent to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere currently pervading in our domain.
“Let me state this without any fear of contradiction, the palace has been enjoying a tremendous support from Adeleke’s dynasty since my assumption of the throne of my forebears, dated 2008 during the period of late Asiwaju of Ede land, Alhaji Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, and to the glory of God, the incumbent Governor and his siblings Dr. Tajudeen Adedeji Adeleke and Yeyeluwa of Ede land, Chief Mrs Modupe Adeleke Sanni has been a blessing to Ede Traditional Council.”
The statement further urged politicians, irrespective of their political affiliation to shun any forms of propaganda capable of heating up the polity.
“Let us imbibe the spirit of oneness and join hands in order to make the second term of Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke a reality,” Oba Lawal added.
