The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilesa, Prof. Taiwo Asaolu, has commended Omotayo Adegboye Foundation over the donation of public toilet facility donated to the school.
The VC who spoke on Wednesday at the official commissioning of the project, described the gesture as a meaningful contribution to improving sanitation and welfare within the institution.
A statement by the university Senior Assistant Registrar, Corporate Service and Information Unit, Babatunde Fanawopo, noted that the event, which attracted members of the university community and well-wishers, underscored the growing role of philanthropic partnerships in strengthening infrastructure development in Nigerian universities.
Asaolu expressed profound appreciation to the foundation for what he described as a timely and impactful intervention. He noted that the facility would greatly enhance hygiene and convenience across the campus, particularly for students, staff, and visitors who rely on accessible sanitation services within the university environment.
He also used the opportunity to invite more stakeholders to join the noble cause of supporting the University of Ilesa. He disclosed that the University Advancement Centre would soon be reaching out to potential partners, philanthropists, and organisations to explore mutually beneficial partnerships and collaborations aimed at accelerating the university’s growth and development.
Prof. Asaolu stressed that hygiene within the university environment is of paramount importance, particularly in a fast-growing institution like the University of Ilesa. With a vibrant academic community comprising over 13,000 students, more than a thousand members of staff, and numerous other stakeholders, he noted that adequate public facilities are indispensable for maintaining health standards and ensuring dignity for all.
