Oluwo orders compulsory solat prayers for Muslims in palace

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has ordered that the palace gate should be closed during every solat (Islamic prayer periods).

The monarch in a video also ordered that all activities within the palace must stop during the period, emphasising the importance of observing the five daily prayers.

Addressing his subjects in the video, Oluwo said it is now compulsory for Muslims in the palace to observe the daily prayers.

The monarch, however, exempted Christians working within the palace from participating in the Islamic prayers but warned them against transacting during the periods.
