Accord Party in Osun State has challenged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji, to explain his role in the alleged mismanagement of the $20 million primary healthcare grant under the immediate past governor of the state, Mr Gboyega Oyetola.
A statement by the state chairman of Accord, Pastor Victor Akande, alleged that the APC candidate, as chairman of the State Procurement Board at the time, mismanaged the grant.
Akande also alleged that Oyebamiji and those on the committee shared contracts on the health care grant without compliance with due process.
The Accord Party chairman asked, “What happened at the procurement board meeting which deliberated on how to disburse the fund and which he, Oyebamiji, chaired, and which had in attendance Mr Adeleke Banik, Remi Omowaiye, and two other board members?
“What was the resolution of the meeting? Does that resolution conform to or violate the state procurement laws?
“What was the content of the report submitted to the State Executive Council by the procurement board that led to the sharing of contracts on the health care grant without compliance with due process?
“Why were due process and procurement regulations violated under Mr Oyebamiji’s watch as Procurement Board Chairman?
“Why did Mr Oyebamiji, as Finance Commissioner, who also doubled as Procurement Board Chairman, watch and allow the illegal sharing of primary health care contracts in gross violation of the extant laws?”
