The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lauded President Bola Tinubu, for the appointment of former speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.
The state chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement through the party spokesperson, Kola Olabisi on Friday, described the appointment of the Ede-born politician as well-deserved and a clear case of putting the right peg in the right hole.
The statement noted that the former Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico, possessed the requisite leadership experience, integrity, and administrative competence needed to contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and global reputation of the university.
Sooko Lawal commended President Tinubu for consistently recognising and rewarding competence and dedication to national service. He noted that the appointment reflects the President’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s tertiary institutions with capable and experienced leaders.
The Osun APC Chairman also extended special appreciation to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, for his fatherly role and continued efforts in guiding the party toward progress and development.
Hon. Lawal prayed for wisdom, strength, and success for Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello in the discharge of his new responsibilities, expressed confidence that he would justify the trust reposed in him and contribute positively to the advancement of Obafemi Awolowo University.
