2026: I don’t need federal might to win Osun – Oyebamiji

The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the August 15, Osun election, Bola Oyebamiji, has said the party would not rely on external influence to win the poll.

Oyebamiji made the disclosure in Osogbo, the state capital, on Thursday, while speaking at the Ramadan lecture organised by the Concerned Muslim Stakeholders and League of Alfas Osun State.

He stated that before he emerged the candidate of his party, he moved round the state, consulting stakeholders in local government areas and other key decision makers.

Oyebamiji said Osun APC, having worked hard to reach the current level of its acceptance in the state, was not relying on federal might to win the next governorship poll.

According to him, “There is no way we can rely on federal might. Don’t forget we have done consultation throughout 30 local governments and area office of the state, we have consulted all the traditional rulers in the state, we have consulted men and women.

“We are working and will continue to work hard until we have the opportunity to be the Governor of Osun State. So, there is nothing like federal might. We have to do our work and we have to deliver in a very good manner, character, behavior to both men, women and every citizen of Osun.”
