The lawmaker representing Obokun state constituency, Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi, has announced the commencement of bursary support for students in tertiary institutions in the constituency.
The lawmaker made the announcement on Saturday at the inauguration of the Obokun Students Union.
In a post on his Facebook page on Tuesday, Adewumi said he reaffirmed his continued commitment to the education of Obokun students through his various initiatives.
He wrote, “Having once served in student leadership myself during my university days, I understand the responsibility and opportunity that comes with such a mandate. I congratulated the new Executives and reminded them that leadership is a privilege and a platform to make lasting impact in the lives of the people they serve.
“I also reaffirmed my continued commitment to the education of Obokun students through my various initiatives, including the Irekandu Back to School Project, the Irekandu Out of School Children Project, and the Irekandu SSCE Scholarship Project.
“Importantly, I announced the commencement of bursary support for our students in higher institutions. The enthusiasm and appreciation from the students were truly heartening.”
