The chairman of Boluwaduro Local Government elected under the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Bayo Oyekanmi, has warned the public against some individuals parading themselves as officials of the Local Government Town Planning Department.
Oyekanmi said the individuals were carrying out illegal activities outside the Council’s approval, adding that the council under him has nothing to do with the unlawful acts.
This was disclosed in a statement by Saheed Omokanye, media assistant to the APC council chairman.
“The public is hereby advised to be vigilant and to verify the identity and authorisation of anyone claiming to represent the Local Government for any official assignment. Anyone caught impersonating government officials or engaging in illegal activities will face the full wrath of the law.
“The Boluwaduro Local Government remains committed to integrity, transparency, and responsible governance,” the statement.
The statement further warned staff and workers of the council, that the authority has not authorised, approved, or awarded any individual or group to tamper with or repair any government-owned tractor.
It added that the chairman did not issue any directive to anyone to carry out repairs on any of the Local Government’s tractors. Any individual or group found engaging in such activities is doing so without official approval and entirely at their own risk.
“The Local Government wishes to state clearly that whenever the need arises to repair any government equipment, due process will be strictly followed in line with laid down procedures and in the best interest of transparency and accountability,” the statement noted.
