The Old Students Association of Methodist High School, Ilesa, Osun State has donated projects worth N150 million to the school.
The association said the project was to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the school.
Speaking with newsmen on Monday in Ilesa, the national president of the association, Architect Gbenga Akintola, listed the projects to include an e-library, contemporary toilets and a Corper’s lodge.
Akintola, who was a former chairman of Lagos Public Works Corporation, noted that the projects were executed to improve the learning conditions of the students in the school, adding that the association is planning to do more projects in the future.
According to him, “The new library is modern. It was a complete project that was started from inception. So it is costing us in the region of N100 million. It was sponsored mainly by old students and friends of the old students and one of the donors is Chief Micheal Adeojo, the chairman of Elizade because his late wife, was one of the pioneer graduates of this school in 1961.
“The two modern toilets cost about N20 million. The toilets have solar power and a water supply. In fact, one of them even has a generator attached to it so that it will help pump the water from the well.
“The Corper’s lodge, which is being donated by the 1997 sets, is costing in the region of about N30 million. In the last 10 to 15 years, the old students have injected nothing less than N500m in this great institution.”
