Iwo residents storm IBEDC office, protest prolonged power outage

A civil rights group, Ta’awunu Human Rights Initiative THURIST on Thursday, held a peaceful protest at the office of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company in Iwo, demanding urgent action over persistent power outages in the town.

The protest drew community members, traders, students, and artisans who expressed frustration over what they described as prolonged darkness and poor service delivery.

The residents said they could no longer tolerate the broken promises and repeated excuses from IBEDC, lamenting the impact of irregular electricity supply on businesses, students, and households across Iwo.

The protesters said that despite regular tariff payments, power supply in many parts of the town remains inconsistent.
