A retired Customs officer, Emmanuel Owolabi, who was kidnapped by suspected bandits at his residence in Ora, Ifedayo Local Government Area of Osun State last month, has regained freedom.
osun.life reports that Owolabi was kidnapped from his home on December 16.
In a press statement issued on behalf of the community on Tuesday, the Asiwaju of Ora-Igbomina, Ambassador Yemi Farounbi, expressed gratitude to God for the safe return of the elder statesman, describing him as a patriot and a worthy senior citizen.
The statement also appreciated the state government for its support and assistance throughout the period of captivity, while expressing confidence that the government would continue to strengthen security and expand government presence, particularly in the boundary areas of the state.
Commendation was extended to the Police, the Military, and other security and intelligence agencies for their efforts and sacrifices in safeguarding lives and property across the country.
