Twelve (12) political parties in Osun State have disclosed that they will work together and adopt a single consensus candidate for the August 08 gubernatorial election.
The parties stated this in a communiqué, signed by their chairmen, after a meeting held on Friday, in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Political parties present at the meeting include the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Action Democratic Party (ADP), Labour Party (LP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Young Progressives Party (YPP), along other participating political parties.
The communiqué noted that the parties unanimously agreed on the need to pool their strength, resources, and political influence behind one candidate who, by collective support, stands a strong chance of emerging as the next Governor of Osun State.
According to them, the alliance aims to present a formidable and united front in the upcoming election.
