Pensioners under the contributory pension scheme in Osun State have threatened to embark on a protest over the non-release of the state’s local government allocations.
The retirees frowned at the refusal of the federal government to release the allocations despite several appeals and agitations from various quarters.
Speaking to journalists during the end-of-the-year gathering of the pensioners in Osogbo on Tuesday,
The president, Unified Contributory Pensioners in Osun State, Comrade
Adeyemo Adeosun stated this on Tuesday at the end-of-the-year gathering of the pensioners in the state.
Adeosun noted that the non-release of the allocation has affected retirees in the state, noting that the situation has aggravated the plight of vulnerable pensioners, workers and their dependents.
Adeosun, however, commended the state Governor, Ademola Adeleke for his efforts to ensure that pensioners and workers in Osun State live decent lives.
He also said the retirees have endorsed the governor for a second term in office.
