Osun will only miss Adeleke’s dance when he loses in 2026 – APC chieftain

By Tunde Olamilekan

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Jumoke Ogunkeyede, has said Governor Ademola Adeleke will lose the 2026 election.

Ogunkeyede, who stated this during an interview with media personality Desmond Obilo, noted that Adeleke has not done well in office and does not deserve a re-election.

The APC chieftain alleged that some of the infrastructure projects of the current administration were subpar, adding that the gubernatorial candidate of the APC, Bola Oyebamiji, would win the forthcoming election.

Ogunkeyede said Oyebamiji has proven to be a reliable person, maintaining that the former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority would serve Osun people with dignity.

He said, “Adeleke’s session is coming to an end. He could do the rest of his dancing and do right by the people. Some areas in Osun were supposedly tarred, and people went there a week later, and they could scratch the bitumen from the roads.

“That is not good enough. Are you serving the people to show off? That is not good enough. He should do the right thing for the little time left. He has not done well to deserve another four years but when God says yes, nobody can say no.

“Bola Oyebamiji is a good man. Believe me, Osun will see a definitive change. When he was the Commissioner for Finance, he made a lot of waves. He is a loyal and focused person. When we go out to campaign, people will see what he is made of.”

Speaking further during the interview, Ogunkeyede said part of the reason why Adeleke did not join the APC was because he was told that he would not get an automatic ticket.

“There was a time Adeleke was to come to our party, and his people were dancing that they were coming to lord him over us, and we met and asked why he should come. We messaged Baba Bisi Akande, who told Adeleke when he went to meet him that he is free to join the APC, but he must go to the primary.

“So, Adeleke didn’t come because he didn’t want to go to the primary because he knew he would lose. Also, our people rejected him. Osun will miss Adeleke for dancing and not for substance,” he added.
