As Oyebamiji meets Dotun Babayemi’s group
The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, has emphasized the urgent need for all party stakeholders, leaders, and loyalists to set aside personal differences and work collectively to win the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
Lawal made the call on Tuesday during the visit of the APC flag bearer for the August 08, 2026 election, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, to Omooba Dotun Babayemi’s Ireti Osun Movement.
According to a Facebook post by the APC chairman, the meeting was part efforts to reposition the APC for victory in August 08, 2026 election.
Lawal said the engagement forms part of a broader reconciliation and mobilization process aimed at strengthening internal cohesion within the APC, closing ranks, and building a united front capable of “rescuing Osun State from the hands of a rudderless and underperforming administration.”
He noted that he expressed deep appreciation to Babayemi and the leadership of the Ireti Osun Movement for their consistency, resilience, and unwavering loyalty to the APC during the meeting.
“I emphasized the urgent need for all party stakeholders, leaders, and loyalists across Osun State to set aside personal differences and work collectively in the overriding interest of the party and the people, as the state can no longer afford the consequences of maladministration, incompetence, and misplaced priorities.
“I therefore call on all progressive-minded party faithful to rally around Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji and the APC to decisively end the era of misrule by the current temporary occupants of power and usher Osun State back onto the path of purposeful leadership, accountability, and sustainable development,” the Osun APC chairman stated.
