Wole Oke slams LG chairmen’s presentation of budgets before House of Assembly

By Tunde Olamilekan

The lawmaker representing Obokun, Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon. Wole Oke, has said the act of presenting local government budget at the state house of assembly is unconstitutional.

Oke, who stated this in a post on his Facebook page on Friday, said local government chairmen presenting their budgets before the assembly renders councillors non-functional.

He wrote, “When local government chairman defend their budgets before the state Assembly, councillors become spectators and democracy becomes a joke. This is unconstitutional and must stop.”

osun.life report that some local government chairmen elected under the Peoples Democratic Party in the February 22, election have presented their council budgets before the state assembly.
