The Network of Kings from the Osun countryside has called for collaboration between the government and traditional rulers to tackle insecurity in the state.
The monarchs also drew the attention of the Osun State government to the non-payment of their monthly salaries for the last 10 months.
They made the call on Thursday during their Annual General Meeting held in Ilesa, Osun State.
The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, commended the initiative of the Part 2 Obas at the grassroots to form a common front to address social and economic problems in the suburbs.
The monarch, who was represented by the Ogboni of Ipole, Oba Omokehinde Oyeleye, reiterated his support for the traditional rulers, stressing that he is always open to advice and assistance.
In his remarks, the President of the organisation, Alaa of Ila Ijesa, Oba Dr Adewale Ojarotade, urged members to support one another and prioritise the welfare of their domains, emphasising the need to intensify efforts on the security of the lives and property of their people by collaborating with the government in the area of intelligence gathering.
