Adeleke berates Oyebamiji over comment on Osun health sector

By Tunde Olamilekan

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has berated the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Mr Bola Oyebamiji, over his comment on the state of Osun’s Health sector.

osun.life reports that Oyebamiji on Thursday, decried the state of health facilities in Osun, promising to revamp the sector if elected in the August 08, 2026 election.

But Adeleke, in a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, described the comment as “a baseless disinformation attempt”, which only deepened the isolation of the opposition candidate in the minds of the public.

He said, “It is like the opposition candidate is living in another world because Osun today and from 2024, is number one across the South West in the area of provision of primary health care. When the Ikire man was in government, Osun was nowhere within the 10 digits.

“Over 200 health centres were renovated under my watch and another phase of renovation is presently ongoing. Under the previous government, the APC candidate was part of the committee that mismanaged the 20-million-dollar World Bank grant meant for the renovation of primary health care centres. Osun won’t return to the days of insensitive leaders.

“As a humane government, our Imole Medical outreaches benefited close to 100, 000 residents. Indigent residents in need of surgeries were attended to on three occasions across the nine federal constituencies with more still planned for the 2026 session. Our government has approved the renovation of two General Hospitals. Other renovations and upgrades will follow.”
