A former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Najeem Salaam has said the challenges confronting Osun State are the result of years of poor political judgment, internal contradictions, and misplaced priorities, particularly within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He stated this after he was elected as the candidate of the African Democratic Congress for the August 8, 2026 governorship election.
Salam said APC is characterised by internal conflict, arrogance, and disregard for the people.
He, however, vowed to rebuild the state of elected as the governor of the state.
He added that he is in the race to win, noting that the people of Osun are not asking for miracles, rather, “they are asking for competent governance, accountability, and leadership that listens.”
The former further said, “The challenges confronting Osun today are the result of years of poor political judgment, internal contradictions, and misplaced priorities, particularly within the All Progressives Congress (APC), where internal conflict, arrogance, and disregard for the people weakened governance and eroded public trust.”
