Despite announcing the postponement of the primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party on Tuesday, the party conducted its primary, with Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola emerging the winner.
It would be recalled that the PDP chairman in Osun State, Sunday Bisi, had during a press conference on Monday, announced the postponement of the party primary.
Also, the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Monday night, announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party.
However, during the primary held in Osogbo under tight security presence, Adeleke’s name appeared on the ballot papers.
According to the poll official who announced the results, Adebayo polled 919 votes out of the 957 valid accredited.
