Two former speakers of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello and Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, have mourned the passing of the 30th Owa of Igbajoland, Oba Adegboyega Famodun.

Similarly, the lawmaker representing Ife Federal Constituency, Hon Taofeeq Ajilesoro, expressed shock at the death of the former chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State.

osun.life reports that Oba Famodun passed on last Friday after a brief illness.

In a statement issued on Monday, Bello, Owoeye, and Ajilesoro said the death of the monarch came as a rude shock, noting that Oba Famodun’s fatherly advice would be missed.

A statement by Bello said Osun has lost an illustrious son and a progressive to the core.

“Osun has lost an illustrious son. I want to condole with the family of our late monarch and I pray God in His infinite mercy will repose his soul,” Bello noted.

Also, Owoeye in a statement on Monday, noted that Oba Famodun’s death is a big loss to Osun State and the APC family.

Owoeye also recounted the massive impact of the late monarch in the progressive fold and his contributions to the development of Igbajoland.

The former lawmaker said, “Our revered late monarch’s death is a big loss to Osun State. He is a true progressive, and his impact on the APC as well as the development of Igbajoland can not be overemphasised. I pray God will grant him eternal rest.”

Ajilesoro while commiserating with the family of the late monarch, said, “Oba Gboyega Famodun’s death came to me as a shock. He is a core progressive and he spent his life for the development of our state and betterment of humanity.”

”I’m sending my heartfelt sympathy to the Famodun family, the good people of Igbajo and the Osun APC family at large. May God rest his soul.” He concluded.
