A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has said Governor Ademola Adeleke would soon announce the party he will be moving to to contest the August 08 gubernatorial election.
Oyinlola said once the governor returns to Osun, there will be a meeting among the leadership of the PDP to decide which party they will join.
The former governor stated this during a private radio programme ‘Oro Oselu’ in Osogbo on Monday.
When asked which party the Governor will likely move to, Oyinlola suggested that Accord party may be the next destination of Adeleke and members of the PDP in Osun.
He said, “If we say we are going to APGA, we will be entering a one-chance. The Accord party is even fair. I know how the Accord party was formed and the founder. Olusegun Obasanjo was the one who formed the Accord party.
“I was part of those who formed the African Democratic Congress, but it didn’t go as I thought and there are still some issues there. Even though there are now major politicians in the party.
“What people will look to when deciding if they will follow Adeleke, another party is his work in the office. He has been paying salaries as and when due, and major infrastructure is ongoing.
“When the governor comes back from his trip this week, we will sit down and decide where we are going, and we will let the Osun people know.”
Answering questions on whether the Governor has overconcentrated infrastructure in Ede, his hometown, Oyinlola said the impact of the present administration has been felt throughout Osun.
“Everybody will not be satisfied with Adeleke’s administration. That is how life works, but what I want to say is that there is no place where the impact of the current administration has not been felt,” he added.
