NYSC Swears In 1,873 Corps Members In Osun

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, on Friday, swore in 1,873 prospective corps members in Osun State.

Speaking during the swearing-in and official opening ceremony of the 2025 Batch C orientation programme at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, the NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Agbor Ndoma Obim, announced that 1,873 prospective corps members comprise 828 males and 1,045 females.

He also said 1,331 corps members comprising 549 males and 782 females dislodged from Lagos State were part of those camping in Osun.

Obim, who emphasised the NYSC’s role in promoting national unity, explained that deploying young people across different states fosters cultural appreciation and tolerance.

While urging corps members to be good ambassadors of the scheme, he reminded them of the need for discipline and strict compliance with camp rules, stating that their behaviour would determine the level of trust the nation can place in them.

“The security and welfare of all corps members are top priorities. I advise corps members to maintain security awareness beyond the camp and avoid unnecessary travel.

“You are also cautioned to use social media responsibly. You are also warned against spreading false or harmful information. I urge you to use your platforms to promote peace and showcase your projects rather than seeking attention through negative publicity,” he added.
