A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in Osun State, Senator Felix Kolawole Ogunwale, popularly known as Jumokol, has countered the position of a group loyal to the National Secretary of the party, ‘The Omoluabi Progressives’, on where the governorship candidate of the ADC should come from.
The Omoluabi Progressives had last week announced that the candidate of the party should come from the West Senatorial District.
However, Senator Ogunwale while speaking with newsmen on Wednesday, said the candidate of the party can come from anywhere.
He also said members of The Omoluabi Progressives are yet to collect the ADC membership card, which will certify them as bonafide party members.
He said, ‘A group in ADC, we don’t know what is wrong with them because they have yet to collect party cards, and they are claiming to be members of the ADC.
“We are not fighting them. There is no party politics where interest will cause a fight. We have nothing personal against ourselves.
“Maybe they have an interest that is different from our own. But, we do not have a personal issue. For us, our Governorship candidate can come from anywhere – East, Central, or West.
“Maybe their own aspirant from the West will contest the primary election with the person we are going to push forward.”
