The director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Osun State Directorate, Mr Adebiyi Adefarasin, has urged residents of the state to embrace immunization as a vital tool for public health and disease prevention.
Adefarasin made the appeal in a statement by the Public Relations Officer, NOA, Osun State, Bunmi Olaseinde, in commemoration of this year’s World Immunization Day coming up on November 10.
The Osun NOA boss noted that this year’s theme, “Vaccine for All: Protecting Our Future Together,” underscores the need for inclusive and accessible vaccination to protect individuals and communities from preventable diseases such as measles, polio, tetanus, and influenza.
The statement urged parents and guardians to ensure their children and wards complete all the routine immunizations, and encourages adults to stay updated on vaccines like Hepatitis B and COVID-19.
It also appealed to the public to support health campaigns while actively dispelling myths and misinformation about vaccines.
