The Osun State House of Assembly on Monday passed the Osun Multi-Door Courthouse (MDC) Establishment Bill 2025.
The bill, which was sponsored by Hon. Simeon Olufemi Popoola, representing Boripe/Boluwaduro State Constituency, provides a legal framework for establishing and operating Multi-Door Courthouses in the state.
Hon. Popoola explained that the bill provides a legal framework for establishing and operating Multi-Door Courthouses in the state.
According to him, the MDC system offers multiple avenues for resolving disputes—including mediation, arbitration, negotiation, conciliation, and litigation—under one roof.
He emphasised that the initiative will decongest the courts, promote amicable settlement of disputes, reduce the cost and time of litigation, and make justice more accessible to the people of Osun State.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, announced that the bill would be transmitted to the Governor for assent.
