Dr. Temitope Ilori, the daughter of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Bisi Akande, has replied to critics who said she was only riding on her father’s goodwill and has not done anything for the party to deserve her position.
Trouble started when Dr Ilori, who is the Director General of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), posted on X that she attended the Ministerial Oversight Committee Meeting of the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF).
However, some APC members who replied to her post said she has not done anything for the party or aligned with it, adding that she only got to the position through her father.
The APC members reference a statement made by the former governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, who questioned the reward system of the APC during a stakeholders meeting recently.
They noted that while those who worked for the victory of the party in the last election were neglected, people like Dr. Ilori, who did ‘nothing’, were rewarded.
But the former Osun State Commissioner for Health, in another X post, countered the APC members’ claim, noting that she has been involved in APC politics.
Dr. Ilori in the X post, said her dedication to APC runs deep, adding that it is “both family legacy and personal conviction.”
She wrote, “I’ve seen a few comments suggesting I wasn’t active during APC campaigns.
“Truth is, this account was only created last year, but I was and continue to be involved right from my ward to LGA and state levels.
“My dedication to our great party runs deep; it’s both family legacy and personal conviction.”
