Osun 2026: Omisore will be defeated before noon – Davido

By Tunde Olamilekan

Nigerian Afrobeat singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken a swipe at the former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Iyiola Omisore, over his governorship ambition.

Davido, in an X comment, appeared to have suggested that his uncle, Governor Adeleke Adeleke, would defeat Omisore before 12 p.m. on election day if he were to contest against him.

osun.life reports that Omisore is one of the aspirants eyeing the gubernatorial ticket of the APC for the August 08, 2026, election.

The former deputy governor of Osun State on Tuesday formally declared his intention to contest the election against the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is an uncle to the singer.

In a post on his X account, the Ile-Ife-born politician on Tuesday afternoon announced that he was ready to formally declare his aspiration with pictures of his supporters alongside the caption “The state is ready. The mission is clear. History is about to unfold in Osogbo. Stay tuned – #OsunRescueMission Begins Today”.

But commenting on the post, Davido wrote “Before 12 p.m” with a laugh emoji.

Before Omisore could contest against Adeleke, he first has to clinch the ticket of the party at the primary election scheduled for December 13.
