A gubernatorial aspirant under the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has reportedly promised to ensure that Olojo Festival is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site if elected governor in the August 08, 2026, election.
The former National Secretary of the APC states this on Saturday while speaking to newsmen at the 2025 Olojo Festival.
According to a statement by the Director, Media and Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Omisore described the festival as a significant cultural heritage that unites the Yoruba people and attracts global attention.
He commended the Ooni of Ife for his commitment to preserving tradition and promoting peace.
“Omisore further assured that if he emerges as governor, he will work tirelessly to ensure that the Olojo Festival is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, just like the Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove,” the statement noted.
