UNGA80: Osun’s first lady advocates strategic investment in women

The wife of Osun State Governor, Mrs Titilola Adeleke, has reaffirmed the state’s commitment to advancing women’s and children’s empowerment through targeted initiatives in education, health, and agriculture.

Mrs Adeleke made the call at the High-Level Summit on Economic, Trade, Empowerment, Investment, and Cultural Exchange, held during the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) in New York.

The First Lady lauded his husband, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s State’s visionary leadership, stating that, “Strategic investments will amplify empowerment initiatives, break gender biases, unlock Nigeria’s economic potential, and foster sustainable development for all.”

In a post on her official Facebook page, the First Lady called for international partnerships that can accelerate the realization of SDG 5 (Gender Equality) while strengthening Nigeria’s broader development agenda.

Alongside her were the Wife of the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Adenike Igbalaye, the Wife of the Head of Service, Dr. Mojisola Aina, and the State Gender Focal Director, Ms. Lola Adewale, who joined other dignitaries in projecting Osun’s priorities on the global stage, according to the post.

“Their participation underscored Osun’s collective leadership commitment to policies that empower women, protect children, and promote sustainable development,” the post noted.
