2026: Stay united and work for the progress of APC – Basiru urges supporters

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ajibola Basiru, has urged members of the party in Osun State to stay united and continue to work for the elevation of APC to an enviable position.

Basiru who is one of the aspirants seeking the governorship ticket under the APC, made the appeal on Saturday during the stakeholder meeting of his political group “Alubarika Movement”.

The APC National Secretary noted that he will always be a party man, adding that whoever eventually emerges as the flagbearer of the party for the election will be fully supported.

The APC chieftain while addressing his supporters, assured them of his readiness to take Osun to a greater height if elected as governor in the 2026 poll.

Basiru while lauding members of the ‘Alubarika Movement’, acknowledged their relentless efforts in mobilizing support across Osun State.

He said, “Let me put the record straight once and for all,” he said firmly, “I am contesting in the 2026 governorship election.”

“There is no need for desperation. I am a party man to the core, and whoever the party chooses is acceptable to me. What matters now is for us to stay united and continue the great work we are doing to elevate our party in the state to an enviable position.”

In their goodwill messages, stakeholders pledged their unwavering loyalty to the APC National Secretary, vowing to intensify grassroots mobilization and ensure a resounding victory for the party in the 2026 governorship election, as well as for President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.

Present at the meeting were the newly appointed Director of Administration at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat, Barrister Ayoola Peter Olajolo; Chairman of the Alubarika Movement, Alhaji Kehinde Olamolu; Rt. Hon. Akintunde Adegboye; and other members of the management team.
