Accident-in-waiting: Residents fault Osun Senator’s constituency project

By Tunde Olamilekan

Residents have called out the lawmaker representing Osun Central, Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi over a poorly constructed road at Oduola Street, Oke Okanla, Osogbo.

The road, which was reportedly one of the constituency projects of the lawmaker

In a picture posted on Facebook by a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rasaq Gafar, an electric pole was seen in the middle of the road, with netizens condemning the engineer for going ahead with the construction without removing the pole.

Reacting to the photo posted by the APC member, a Facebook user, Jimoh Abayomi, who is also a member of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, mocked Gafar for posting the picture, noting that the road was constructed by a lawmaker in the APC.

It would be recalled that Senator Fadeyi recently defected from the PDP to the APC.

Abayomi wrote: “That’s one of Ajagunla’s projects, your new signing in APC.”

But another APC member, Yusuf Akeem, claimed the road was constructed when the lawmaker was still with the PDP.

Akeem while replying to Abayomi, said, “That’s the orientation your party gave him then, he is currently going through rehabilitation as a Progressive Senator that must be decent and found worthy in character and Representation.”

Akinsola Richard said the pole ought to have been removed before the engineer laid the asphalt on the road, adding that the situation can lead to an accident.

“The pole ought to be removed b4 the asphalt now. The position of the electric pole cold cause an accident,” he said.
